Treatment Model

The Journey to Healing and Recovery

Upon arriving, our team of caring and experienced medical and mental health professionals start evaluating our client’s personal history of substance use, family history, blood panels, mental health, brain function and overall physical well-being.

After evaluating the body and brain’s medical condition, our treatment team then sets the appropriate treatment plan specifically designed for that individual. We then address and reverse individual challenges through a fully immersed experience that is a completely hands-on approach utilizing cutting-edge, evidence-based methodologies. At MHDRP, we pursue new evidence-based “paths” on your recovery journey, which provides our clients with the opportunity to experience the most advanced and effective program for healing.

It’s known that depression, anxiety, addiction, mTBI, and PTSD are all correlated. Therefore, healing and recovery require rejuvenation of existing and damaged neuro-pathways and re-balancing brain chemistry. At MHDRP, that’s exactly what our clients get! We provide a full spectrum of various neuro-based treatments that actually heal the brain and other parts of the body that have been damaged by addiction.

Program Curriculum

Matthew’s Hope Detox and Recovery Program utilizes as its curriculum, Hazelden’s Living in Balance which “is a research based, flexible, practical, and user-friendly substance use disorder treatment curriculum that helps clients address issues in lifestyle areas that may have been neglected during addiction”.

“The conceptual framework for Living in Balance is that addiction is a chronic, progressive, relapsing condition that involves compulsion, loss of control, continued use despite adverse consequences, and relapse. Living in Balance stresses that addiction is a biopsychosocial problem. That is, the emergence, maintenance, and course of addiction are influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. In turn, addiction has profound effects on people’s biological, psychological, and social lives”.

“This curriculum is comprehensive, presents critical core treatment education, and is appropriate for all substances of abuse”. The program draws from cognitive-behavioral, experiential, and Twelve Step approaches to help clients achieve lifelong recovery. Sessions are easily customized for specific clients or treatment tracks.

During the Detox Phase of the Program, the first 12 unique core sessions help clients address life issues that are central to achieving a successful early recovery foundation. The first 12 sessions include topics which cover; Planning for Sobriety, Alcohol and Drug Education, Spirituality and Stress Reduction; just to name a few.

Recovery Support Team (RST)

The Matthew’s Hope Recovery Support Team (RST) Program is a team of three Recovery Support Team Professionals who provide ongoing support and accountability to clients for 24 months after discharge from primary treatment.
Matthew’s Hope Foundation believes this program to be an essential treatment process that restores clients and empowers clients to reclaim the fullness of their lives and the lives of family members and loved ones.

The Recovery Support Team functions to equip clients upon their date of discharge from detox with the essential tools necessary to stay sober & recovered and to enhance independent management of recovery so participants will maintain sobriety and progress in their recovery beyond their primary treatment.

The purpose of the Recovery Support Team is to provide customized case management to empower clients to progress in their recovery without relapse and to achieve overall wellness in life. The RST is an essential resource, providing hands on support and daily accountability to participants through face to face consultations and/or virtual contact, along with ensuring client’s engagement in recovery-oriented services.

Participants in the Recovery Support Team will receive a Continuing Care Plan that will map out an individualized plan of care to include counseling, community-based support services, IASIS Neuromodulation treatment, & spiritual discipline to encourage faith- based sobriety. The Team also offers the participant a customized plan of action & educational support to develop & enhance physical/ nutritional health, financial health, vocational support, as well as referrals for medical and mental health services, as needed.

IASIS MCN Technology

MCN: Micro Current Neurofeedback is designed to help the brain rebalance and reorganize itself. IASIS utilizes small sensors that detect and monitor brainwaves, sending the resulting electronic signals to a computer and EEG processor. The computer returns a tiny signal that is virtually a mirror image of the brain’s own waves. The microcurrent produces a fluctuation in the brain waves that allow the gentle, effortless release of fixed, frozen patterns.

The Micro Current Neurofeedback treatment is like rebooting a computer. The body responds by laying down new neural pathways, increasing neuroplasticity. It literally allows the brain and nervous system’s chemical imbalances to self-regulate.
The nervous system recalibrates and stabilizes, giving the individual the actual physical tools to be more resilient, responsive, and grounded. After successful treatment, prescription drugs can often be reduced or discontinued, with the approval of a physician. This is an instrumental approach to support the healing process.

Unlike traditional neurofeedback, Micro Current Neurofeedback produces fast results in a limited number of sessions, and the ease and simplicity of treatment all distinguish it from traditional neurofeedback. Micro Current Neurofeedback produces a measurable change in the brainwaves without conscious effort from the individual receiving the feedback. The result is a changed brainwave state and much greater ability for the brain and nervous system to regulate itself.

Our experience shows that more than 85% of our clients observe a noticeable positive response in one to three sessions. Reported changes are generally enduring and sustainable. Micro Current Neurofeedback (MCN), is very effective in many areas, including: Anxiety, Depression, TBI, PTSD, ADD/ADHD and Substance Use Disorder.

The Importance of Addressing Brain Function

The importance of balancing and enhancing brain activity, stimulating endorphin production, and stabilizing brain chemistry are two serious factors so often overlooked in both detox and treatment programs. At MHRP we realize their importance and utilize our incredibly talented medical and clinical staff to institute treatment to address these issues. We utilize IASIS Technology which is very safe microcurrent neuro feedback in order to improve cognitive function, stimulate natural endorphin production, decrease and even eliminate anxiety, and depression, and improve deep sleep and natural healing. We also will incorporate other proven modalities like Bio sound technology and Infusion therapy when deemed appropriate and helpful to complete the essential healing of the brain and its chemistry.

At MHDRP, while receiving these evidenced based treatments, our clients become more “in tune” to cognitively engage in psychological therapies such as one on one counseling and group counseling where clients in other programs are still struggling with withdrawal and clarity.
By the time our clients are released to another continuum of care and the activities of daily living, their healing process is far more advanced than others struggling with addiction in most cookie cutter programs that have low success and high relapse rates. Our clients will also SEE the proof of improvement through the use of “Brain Gauge” technology and they will feel the positive difference in their mental and physical activities.
